To make your bedroom a little more environmentally conscious, consider starting with the Birch Natural Mattress, a medium-firm hybrid model that’s free of polyurethane foam, fiberglass, formaldehyde, and pesticides. Instead, it’s made from natural and organic materials, including breathable organic cotton, natural wool, and organic latex that’s certified by the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS), breathable organic cotton, and natural wool. Individually wrapped steel coils provide responsive support, while the latex offers gentle contouring (as opposed to the sinking feeling you might get from memory foam). Contributor Zoë Sessums was particularly impressed by the mattress’s balance of softness and firmness, calling its feel “Goldilocks perfection.” Birch Natural also features reinforced sides for additional stability that you’ll enjoy as you sit on the edge of your bed to put on your shoes. Free shipping, a 365-night sleep trial, and a limited lifetime warranty add even more appeal to the brand’s early holiday sale, which takes 25% off sitewide, bringing the queen-size Birch Natural Mattress down to $1,399 from $1,865.
Best Customizable Mattress Deal: The WinkBed
The WinkBed is a luxury hybrid mattress that caters to your preferred sleeping style, and it’s currently 30% off as part of the brand’s Veterans Day sale. What makes the WinkBeds particularly versatile is its four firmness options: Softer, Luxury Firm, Firmer, and Plus (the last level, Plus, is designed for sleepers who need additional support). Beneath its plush yet supportive Euro pillow top, pressure-relieving gel foam and individually wrapped coils work together to provide cushioning, targeted support, and motion isolation. A moisture-wicking Tencel cover also helps promote a cooler sleeping environment. But don’t just take WinkBeds’ word for it. Contributor Mark Burka notes that the mattress “provides strong edge support and wicks away heat,” two features that help distinguish it from other hybrids. Moreover, it also comes with free shipping, a 365-night sleep trial, and a lifetime warranty, offering plenty of time to determine whether it’s the right fit for you.
