West Elm Midcentury Headboard Storage Platform Bed
Not every bedroom has room for nightstands, so West Elm’s Midcentury Storage Headboard Platform bed pulls double duty. Its clean lines, warm wood finish, and minimal silhouette offer an updated interpretation of classic mid-century design, but the real draw is the headboard, which conceals shelving behind sliding doors. It’s a clever place to stash books, charges, and all those other bedside essentials that need a home. During West Elm’s early holiday promotions, you can snag the goes-with-almost-everything bed frame for $300 off its original price.
Contributor Yelena Moroz Alpert tested the bed in her son’s bedroom, where limited floor space made adding another dresser or nightstand impractical. “The doors run on little tracks and are embedded with little magnets that give it smooth and soft closure,” she shared. “Inside, you have a cutout for any wires, and these are accessible to all storage options.” She also appreciated how the blonde wood finish complemented the room’s contemporary aesthetic. A caveat for taller sleepers: the low-profile platform may make getting in and out of bed a little less comfortable.
