The Gilded Age has returned to HBO with its largest premiere audience ever.

The Season 4 premiere, which aired November 1, drew nearly 4 million cross-platform U.S. viewers in its first three days of availability, HBO said Thursday. That makes it the series’ most-watched season premiere ever, up 25% from Season 3’s 3.2 million.

For context, HBO says Season 3 went on to average 8.8 million U.S. viewers per episode.

In Season 4 of The Gilded Age, Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position. Meanwhile, Marian forges a new path for herself, and Peggy works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for.

New episodes of the Season 4 debut on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max through the finale on December 20.

Season 4’s cast includes Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Ben Ahlers, Ashlie Atkinson, Dylan Baker, Kelley Curran, Jordan Donica, Jessica Frances Dukes, Amy Forsyth, and Jack Gilpin.

Also part of the HBO series is Simon Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Ben Lamb, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Debra Monk, Hattie Morahan, Donna Murphy, Kristine Nielsen, Kelli O’Hara, Taylor Richardson, Douglas Sills, Erin Wilhelmi, John Douglas Thompson, Taylor Trensch, James Scully, Dennis Haysbert, Maggie Kuntz, Neal Huff, Bonnie Milligan, Jim Gaffigan, Dallas Roberts, Andrew Burnap, Elizabeth Marvel, Adrienne Warren, with Bill Camp and Phylicia Rashad.

Julian Fellowes is the creator of The Gilded Age and also a writer and executive producer. The creative team also includes Salli Richardson-Whitfield (director and EP) and Sonja Warfield (writer and EP). The series’s executive producers are Gareth Neame, David Crockett, Bob Greenblatt, Kate Churchill, Davita Scarlett, and Elaine Aronson; co-executive producers are Erica Armstrong Dunbar and Holly Rymon.

The Gilded Age is a co-production between HBO and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
